MineSpace, a unique co-working area in Perth specific to the mining industry, will be releasing accesses to its software portal on March 3. This means geoscientists all over Australia will have access to software payable per month. It is the first time in the world that a portal such as this has been so accessible and affordable.
Adrian Large, Co-founder of MineSpace says “We have strategically set out to form partnerships with software producers including Pitney Bowes, Micromine, Geosoft, Reflex/ioGAS, and Hexagon Geospatial who are pivotal to the mining value chain and have a strong global presence in the industry.
It is a very important step for the exploration and consulting industry in Australia. This development gives the opportunity for consultants and contractors who have been unable to afford annual licenses until now, to suddenly have simple access to software which unlocks their skill-set that has been previously hindered by high costs. It’s also important in regards to overall affordability for small and medium exploration outfits to get the most out of their own budgets, employees, and information by using the best tools.”
MineSpace plans to globally distribute the software portal, while continuing to add strategic geological and mining system as it grows.
Adrian says, “It’s a very significant cog, that will become part of a larger industry defining system. Our roadmap into the future looks very bright for the mining industry, and we intend on being a significant driver of new technology and ideas. We want to provide the opportunity for the fast movers to move even faster.
With CODES (the Centre for Ore Deposit and Exploration Science) taking a place in the MineSpace offices, and other research bodies expressing interest, there is a lot of scope for interaction between research and industry that will enhance exploration and mining opportunities.
“What’s great about MineSpace is that industry, service providers, and researchers can all share facilities and technology under the same roof. Imagine what can happen when they all put their heads together.”
We really are looking forward to some amazing and creative times ahead. Given the calibre of people and organisations involved …it can only be good for the Western Australian minerals industry.”
MineSpace are officially launching the software portal at their West Perth office on March 3. More information…
