Before you think that neXTek is just another conference in resources calendar, think again. It has been especially designed to encourage innovation – to give attendees the best opportunities to join the dots between innovation, products, and the methods we employ in using them. There are immensely important when harnessing innovation. After all, we only know what we know. It is difficult to innovate without understanding how you can get their in the first place. And that’s what we aim to do at neXTek – provide enough concurrent innovations, that participants can join some of the dots. perhaps not all of them, but enough of them to spark an understanding of how to do things differently.
Machine learning, business intelligence, exploration, mining, automation, data…the list goes on. It’s can all be integrated, but it just isn’t obvious until you see it or hear it explained in a way that actually makes sense.
Often the best innovation comes when crossing boundaries. It may be the boundaries between software, the boundaries between data, internal departments, research, conceptualising an approach or a combination. NeXtek is designed to encourage innovation in industry.
This is where the importance of innovation, mining, and the conference black arts come together. We have designed the neXTek itinerary and space to focus completely on attendees getting an innovative as they can be.
How have we done this?
- We have provided a premium conference at a fraction of the normal cost for attendees. We want companies to brings teams of 5 or more along to neXTek, split up, soak up as much information as possible, and put it all together back in the office.
- Keeping the premium experience is important including a great central venue at the Perth Concert Hall, top class speakers all day, workshops, free coffee, and great food.
- NeXTek does not stop at any point during the day. Not for morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea. We want to keep people moving, learning, and having fun. Attendees can take a breather at any time in our co-working area, and meet other in our meeting area.
- We encourage our booth holders to be as hands-on with demonstrations of their products. neXTek has a natural buzz as a result which encourages learning and being open to new conversations.
- This year we have added an over-sized technology area in the Perth Concert Hall forecourt, giving an opportunity for attendees to see demonstrations they would not normally get to see at a venue in the city’s centre.
- NeXTek has 4 levels. Two levels for exhibitions, workshops, and speakers, one for co-working and meetings, and one for neXTek Kids. Truly utilising the the area for maximum effect.
NeXTek 2016 is designed to be different to most other conferences. That’s because it’s an innovation conference, and if we are to encourage true innovation, we can’t stick to the same format.
